Colors unveils mega festive season line-up that includes Nagin 2 and Bigg Boss 10

Mumbai: Colors is ready with an explosive line-up of new shows this festive season. The new crop of shows boasts of presenting the viewers a motley of emotions to resonate with whilst amping up the entertainment quotient manifold. Starting with Devanshi launching on 3rd October 2016, Colors will make way for programmes like Nagin Season 2, Bigg Boss 10, Dil Se…Dil Tak and Shani, that will change the entertainment landscape.

Commenting on the new line-up, Raj Nayak, CEO – Colors said, “Each of these concepts have been handpicked by our creative teams keeping in mind newness, intrigue and variety. Be it a show that dismisses blind faith like Devanshi, the second edition of our super-hit mystical thriller Nagin, an entertainment show on human behaviour like Bigg Boss, a love story with a unique twist like Dil Se…Dil Tak or a historical-mytho series like Shani, it’s all happening on Colors. We have associated with the choicest storytellers and production teams to curate compelling shows in keeping with the channel’s core DNA whilst catering to every member of a family.”
Kicking off the celebrations in style, Colors will first launch Devanshi on 3rd October 2016, a first-of-its-kind story which will bring to light the ill-effects of blind faith through the life of a 7-year-old girl (Kashvi Kothari) who finds herself stuck in the midst of belief systems led by Maa Kusum Sundari (Karuna Pandey). Through a powerful narrative, Devanshi will question the dubious practices exercised by the so-called god-men and god-women who have, today, become an integral part of our society. The show will air every Monday to Friday at 7:00 PM.
Coming up next will be the second edition of television’s most-loved and well-received show – Nagin Season 2. Picking up 24 years after the first season’s end, the sequel will delve into love, protection of a legacy and revenge thereon, with a nagmani at its helm. As a mystical thriller bringing alive folklore-based themes, Nagin 2 will grab audience attention through a gripping narrative and superlative VFX effects, combined with a popular star-cast including Mouni Roy, Karanveer Bohra, Ada Khan, Sudha Chandran and Aashka Goradia, amongst others. The journey into the world of the unknown will commence starting 8th October 2016, every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 PM.
Undoubtedly the biggest launch of the season will be Colors’ marquee property, Bigg Boss 10, which will kick-off starting 16th October 2016, every Monday to Friday at 10:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 PM. Creating history, this season, the focus shifts to the common man, who will become the erstwhile contestants on the show and live under 24×7 camera scrutiny. Selected after a rigorous audition process, the common man contestants will lead an isolated life, their only contact with the outside world being the show’s superstar host, Salman Khan.

Sun TV does a rejig in afternoon fiction band; set to bring in Chat Show Nijangal

Chennai: Sun TV is set to break its fiction line-up in its pre and post noon time band that starts at 11 AM and goes till 3:00 PM, with the launch of new chat show NIJANGALl from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM that will be hosted by Actress Kushboo.
The reports state that Vision Time India will be producing and marketing the chat show. In order to make way for NIJANGAL, the channel is likely to wind up fiction show Ponnujal and shift Maragatha Veenai from 12:30 PM to 11:30 AM.
The sources say that the Chat show NIJANGAL on Sun TV is the remake of Telugu show on Gemini TV titled ‘Racha Banda’ that has gained a better reach among the audience with actress Roja on the lead to present.
With this the channel hopes to retain the existing audience or a major part of it and expects to add new set of audience who may have a turn to gather interest in watching a show that comes out in a different colour with actress Khushboo on the dais.
NIJANGAL is all about the people and their issues they face. It’s not that the solution they come for and it’s evident from the similar type of shows broadcast on other channels. It all began with shows like KATHAI ALLA NIJAM with actress Lakshmi on the lead on Vijay TV. Then SOLVATHELLAM UNMAI with Lakshmi Ramakrishnan on Zee Tamil that are inspired by the popular international chat show “The Ophra Winfrey Show”. Commendably, her presence and presentation make the audience as well as the participants of the show, forget their next move. Leave alone the stream of issues and comments that have floated on and on.
Sun TV is determined to make a difference in all aspects by bringing up the show in a fresh look, poles apart. Who among the larger part of our territory is likely to evade an opportunity to be seen with their idol of glamour with a striking mannerism that’s known to be highly incredible, away from the usual jerks? They have issues to share, of course. If not with the near and dear, better on a platform amid the glare of publicity, and with Khushboo to hear, listen, share her views and supposedly to provide solutions. The Company is set launch its maiden TV production Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya, a new fiction show with next generation love story Vijay TV, is scheduled to go on air from October 3rd, every Monday to Saturday at 7.30 pm. The serial will be an amalgamation Love, Passion and Ego. Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya is a love saga between two aspiring singers Vikram and Abirami, from different family circumstances. The story will revolve around the Hardships in the life of a girl who tries to up bring her family’s financial status with her musical talent. Wholly the crux of the story is that, how their love each other gets tossed during their musical journey.
The Ever-Gorgeous Television actress Madhumila, who was last seen in office and Atcham Thavir will be seen portraying the female protagonist Abirami. The Suave and handsome Television actor Vikraman will be the male lead. He is currently hosting a crime based show Nadandhadhu Enna in Vijay television. And, he also did a pivotal role in Vijay Chithiram’s movie- Mehar. Along with them, actresses like Uma bhathmanabhan and Uma Riyas will be seen doing pivotal roles.
Vinnai Thandi Varuvaaya is directed by popular Director Sundar. K. Vijayan. He has tried his hands in film direction. Notably, He is the son of popular director K. Vijayan, who has done 68 films with versatile actors.

&Pictures kicks off festive bonanza with back-to-back films
MUMBAI: Adding to the spirit of the festive season, Hindi movie channel &Pictures has introduced a new line-up of back-to-back movies for October. The channel will also air world TV premieres and a rock concert.
From 1 to 11 October, the channel will host an 11-day ‘Happy Dussehra Festival’ with an assortment of romantic movies, action thrillers, horror flicks and mellow comedies.
The festival kick-starts with romantic film ‘Vivaah’, followed by action thrillers like ‘Bruce Lee – The Fighter’ and ‘Gadar’, and comedy films like ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Dhamaal’.
Moreover, there will be popular movies like ‘Mass’ and ‘Lingaa’, along with the premiere of horror flick ‘3 A.M.’ starring Rannvijay Singh.
Soon after the film festival, the channel will showcase ‘Fusion Flicks’, wherein Bollywood will meet Hollywood, from 12 to 22 October. The segment will air Hollywood blockbusters like ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Ghost Riders’, ‘The Amazing Spider Man 2’ and ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’, coupled with Bollywood hits like ‘Tamasha’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Nayak: The Real Hero’.
The channel will also present its ‘Diwali Picture Carnival’, which will run from 23 October to 2 November. Comprising some of the popular family blockbusters from across the globe, the carnival will feature ‘Men in Black II’, ‘The Karate Kid’ and ‘Mortal Kombat’ along with ‘Raja Natwarlal’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’.

Unearth Sanghavi's secrets on Raj TV

MUMBAI: After a successful launch of the mystical-thriller series Kaakha Kaakha, Raj TV is all set to roll-out another show. Titled Arundathi, the show will hit the TV screens from 10 October 2016 every Monday to Saturday at 8 pm.
The show is s mystery series based around this character called Sanghavi, a young, beautiful, happy-go-lucky girl who loves her family. The lead protagonist has her dreams, aspirations in life which she wishes to fulfill but she is met with continuous failures.
Brief synopsis:
She gets married despite all the attempts made by her parents in finding the suitable groom for her. Whoever comes to see her for alliance, their lives are either being threatened mysteriously or they face evil forces around them and they eventually end up giving up on her owing to superstitious beliefs.
Sanghavi later realizes some unusual power possessed by her--- whenever she touches someone bitten by snake, the venom goes off; whenever she steps in a temple, there's always a cool breeze that accompanies her despite the hot and humid weather.
Her parents visit a famous temple to consult the top astrologers, where they are revealed that Sanghavi will get married on Vaikasi 18th Friday and the bridegroom's name is Sankaraman. Likewise, soon Sanghavi's parents get a proposal from a bridegroom by name Sankaraman who happens to be a cop. Tragedy strikes when Sankaraman is killed in an attempt to save Sanghavi from a false murder charge of their landlord who was actually murdered by the local dacoits.
In order to find the mysteries surrounding Sanghavi, the frustrated family approach a Sithar who is on a non-stop penance for 100 years. The revelations by Sithar forms the base for the rest the show.

Star all set for ISL 2016 with five language feeds and 10 sponsors
MUMBAI: Star India will have five language feeds for the third season of the Indian Super League (ISL). The league will have English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam and Tamil feeds.
The matches will be telecast on the Star Sports network, Star Gold, and on regional channels Jalsha Movies, Asianet Movies and Vijay Super.
The English feed will be aired on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 2 standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) versions. Star Sports 3 and Hindi movie channel Star Gold SD and HD will air the Hindi feed.
Jalsha Movies, Asianet Movies and newly launched Vijay Super will carry the Bengali, Malayalam and Tamil feeds, respectively.
The matches will also be live streamed on Star’s video-on-demand (VoD) platform Hotstar. The matches will be aired at 7 pm.
The list of international broadcasters remains unchanged from last year. Star has syndication deals with broadcasters across North America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
The broadcasters include Fox Sports (Australia), Turner (Brazil), Asian Television Network (Canada), Next Generation Sports Network (USA, Japan, Netherlands, Korea), Abu Dhabi Media Corporation (Middle East & North Africa), Viasat (Norway), Fox Sports (Sub-Saharan Africa), Sony TV (UK) and LeTV (China).
The broadcaster has four sponsors and six partners on board for the event. Hero is the title sponsor for the third consecutive year. It had signed a three-year deal for the title sponsorship. This is the third year of its partnership with the event.
Maruti Suzuki, DHL and Amazon are associate sponsors. Maruti Suzuki has come back for a third year as the associate sponsor of the league. Last year, Flipkart was the other associate sponsor besides Maruti.
ISL 2016 partners include Birla Tyres (Partner Plus), Amul, Puma (Official Ball Partner), The Muthoot Group (Official Referee Partner), Gatorade (Official Drinks Partner) and Imperial Blue. Birla Tyres is the only new partner while most others have renewed their partnership with ISL.
It must be noted that Star has clubbed on-ground and on-air sponsorships. Advertisers who sign up as sponsors and partners get on-ground presence along with on-air exposure.
ISL 2016 will be played from 1 October to 18 December. The tournament will have one match a day, which adds up to 61 matches including the semi-finals and the final.

NEW DELHI: The magnum opus 'Baahubali', a film that earned over Rs 6000 million in worldwide box office collections, is now being turned into a new multi-episode animated series titled – "Baahubali: The Lost Legends".
This was announced by Amazon Prime Video which has tied up wth acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks.
"S.S. Rajamouli is one of the most visionary movie minds in current times and we are thrilled to have him launch this exclusive series, Baahubali: The Lost Legends," said Amazon Prime Video India Director and Country Head Nitesh Kripalani in a statement, adding, "The animation series will allow our customers to discover hidden stories and legends from the Baahubali world. And now for the first time, customers can watch the exclusive trailer first on www.Amazon.in"
"What we managed to showcase in the film was just the tip of the iceberg," said director Rajamouli. "From the minute I started working on this story, I knew the world of 'Baahubali' cannot be encompassed into a film or two, simply because there is so much more to tell and animation is another way to do that."
Graphic India Co-Founder & CEO Sharad Devarajan feels that filled with political intrigue, betrayal, war, action and adventure, the animated series will take audiences on new adventures beyond the film.
As a part of festive celebrations, customers can watch the exclusive teaser trailer of `Baahubali: The Lost Legends', the animated series, exclusively on www.Amazon.in only on 1 and 2 October 2016.
The animated series was conceived by S S Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan and Arka Mediaworks, who will all be producers along with Jeevan J. Kang, Graphic's EVP Creative and the lead character designer for the new animated series. Graphic's senior animation writer, Ashwin Pande, will also be a producer.
According to Arka Mediaworks CEO Shobu Yarlagadda, "Having created so many iconic stories and characters, there is no one more equipped than Graphic India, to take the story of Baahubali forward. We are very excited for what's to come."
Baahubali: The Lost Legends is set before the Kalakeya invasion depicted in the movie, when Baahubali and Bhallaladeva are still both young princes of Mahishmati. Two brothers competing to rule the greatest kingdom of its age and the epic adventures they must endure to prove they are worthy to one day wear the crown. NEW DELHI: The magnum opus 'Baahubali', a film that earned over Rs 6000 million in worldwide box office collections, is now being turned into a new multi-episode animated series titled – "Baahubali: The Lost Legends".
This was announced by Amazon Prime Video which has tied up wth acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks.
"S.S. Rajamouli is one of the most visionary movie minds in current times and we are thrilled to have him launch this exclusive series, Baahubali: The Lost Legends," said Amazon Prime Video India Director and Country Head Nitesh Kripalani in a statement, adding, "The animation series will allow our customers to discover hidden stories and legends from the Baahubali world. And now for the first time, customers can watch the exclusive trailer first on www.Amazon.in"
"What we managed to showcase in the film was just the tip of the iceberg," said director Rajamouli. "From the minute I started working on this story, I knew the world of 'Baahubali' cannot be encompassed into a film or two, simply because there is so much more to tell and animation is another way to do that."
Graphic India Co-Founder & CEO Sharad Devarajan feels that filled with political intrigue, betrayal, war, action and adventure, the animated series will take audiences on new adventures beyond the film.
As a part of festive celebrations, customers can watch the exclusive teaser trailer of `Baahubali: The Lost Legends', the animated series, exclusively on www.Amazon.in only on 1 and 2 October 2016.
The animated series was conceived by S S Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan and Arka Mediaworks, who will all be producers along with Jeevan J. Kang, Graphic's EVP Creative and the lead character designer for the new animated series. Graphic's senior animation writer, Ashwin Pande, will also be a producer.
According to Arka Mediaworks CEO Shobu Yarlagadda, "Having created so many iconic stories and characters, there is no one more equipped than Graphic India, to take the story of Baahubali forward. We are very excited for what's to come."
Baahubali: The Lost Legends is set before the Kalakeya invasion depicted in the movie, when Baahubali and Bhallaladeva are still both young princes of Mahishmati. Two brothers competing to rule the greatest kingdom of its age and the epic adventures they must endure to prove they are worthy to one day wear the crown. DD notifies tenders for FreeDish MPEG4 STBs

NEW DELHI: Tenders submitted for set top boxes suitable for MPEG4 upgradation of the country’s only free-to-air direct-to-home platform DD FreeDish will be opened on 25 October 2016.
In an announcement, the Indian pubcaster Doordarshan said that original equipment manufacturers filing tenders for this purpose would have to be DD authorized OEMs to sell DD approved Indian conditional access system (iCAS) and firmware/middleware-enabled boxes.
Those applying would have to buy the form for Rs 10,000 and then give earnest money for Rs 1 million and deliver the STBs within a period of three months.
A DD official, who did not want to be named, said it was clear that DD will not be paying any money to those who are found suitable but will only approve their bids in accordance with the parameters set for suitability of the STBs. The earnest money was only aimed at getting genuine manufacturers, he added.
India is expected to have 173 million paid cable and satellite home in India by the beginning of next year and the official added that the exact number of FreeDish subscribers would be known when the Indian Conditional Access System (iCAS) system becomes fully operational. Since any individual can buy a FreeDish antenna and set it atop his house, it is difficult to indicate the number of subscribers.
A pre-bid conference would be held on 3 October 2016.

Sources told indiantelevision.com that FreeDish is being encrypted through iCAS to keep a tab on the number of subscribers, but it would remain free-to-air.
