Star World Premiere HD is set to launch the psychological thriller titled ‘Chance’ on 21 October. Starring Hugh Laurie, the show will air at 10 pm. ‘Chance’ marks Laurie’s comeback to primetime television with yet another story about a doctor, but this time it’s with a twist. As the show’s titular character, Laurie dons the role of Dr Eldon Chance, a forensic neuro-psychiatrist who takes up the dangerous job of trying to protect a patient with multiple personality disorder. Speaking about the show and how this doctor is different from that in ‘House’, Laurie stated, “I honestly don’t see any similarities, maybe because I’ve artificially erected a wall between the two things [in my mind]. Maybe I’m incorrect, and it will be a distraction for the audience, but I hope not, because the characters are massively different. Their attitude to life is different; the story that unfolds is infinitely removed from [the world of ‘House’].” ‘Chance’ follows the story of Dr Eldon Chance, a San Francisco-based forensic neuro-psychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.
