Strengthening its non-fiction slot, Star Plus is all set to launch a new singing reality show titled ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’. Auditions for the contest will commence on 5 November, with Kolkata being the first destination. The show is produced by Frames Productions. This will be the second show that the makers are producing with the channel. Earlier, they produced ‘Dance +’. For the singing reality show, the makers have got on board rapper Badshah as a judge. He will be joined by other judges, Karan Johar and Shekhar Ravjiani. The show will give budding singers aged 5–50 an opportunity to showcase their talent. The gates are also open for international audience, but the clause is that only Hindi songs will be allowed to perform. The contestants can perform solo, duo or in group. Speaking about the show, rapper Badshah said, “I am extremely enthused and looking forward to meeting some great talent from the world over. As this is my first time judging, I am waiting to get together with Karan Sir and Shekhar to discover and hone some talented voices.” The dates of airing and other details such as promotion and marketing plans are yet to be finalised. Apart from this show, Frames Productions also produced popular non-fiction shows such as ‘Super Dancer’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, which is aired on Sony TV.
