HTC is reportedly working on two new Nexus smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat codenamed Marlin and Sailfish. The company is likely to announce both the models sometime in October, and there are already leaks and rumours about the devices.
According to latest leak, Nexus Sailfish – the smaller of the two Nexus offerings – will feature a 5-inch Full HD display, and will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. While Android Police is reporting the processor model to be unknown, in all likelihood it is going to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
HTC Google Nexus Sailfish is also likely to get 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. It is unclear whether 32GB will be base storage or Google plans to launch multiple storage variants. The smartphone is reportedly powered by a 2,770mAh battery. Nexus Sailfish is also likely to get the same camera setup seen on the Nexus 6P.

Android Police reports that Nexus Sailfish will feature 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The smartphone is likely to feature a rear fingerprint sensor with Nexus imprint support and bottom mounted USB-C port. Luckily, Google is in no hurry to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack and might also add bottom-firing speakers.
Google is also reportedly following a more cleaner design with its Nexus lineup. Some renders revealed previously suggest no camera hump like the one found on Nexus 6P. If these specifications turn out to be right, Google Nexus Sailfish could well be the most powerful compact smartphone in the market.
