Airtel has launched unlimited voice-calling for postpaid users under its new ‘myPlan Infinity’ with local, STD, and roaming all included for its customers. The announcement comes after all telecom majors have starting announcing price-cuts on data packs for customers ahead of the upcoming Reliance Jio launch, which is expected to cause a massive disruption in pricing for 4G data and voice-calling.
Airtel’s ‘myPlan Infinity’ combines unlimited voice calling with flexible data benefits, and starts at Rs 1199 for postpaid customers. For Rs 1199, customers will enjoy unlimited voice calling – local, STD, and on national roaming – along with 100 SMS per day, 1GB 3G/4G data and free subscription to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies.
The Rs 1599 plan will offer unlimited voice calling – local, STD, and on national roaming – along with 100 SMS per day and 5GB of 3G/4G data and free subscription to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies. Similarly the Rs 1,999 and Rs 2,999 will offer unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS free and 10GB and 20GB 3G/4G data respectively and Wynk subscription.
“With ‘myPlan Infinity’ we are making voice calls free for our customers and offering them the flexibility to combine this benefit with their individual data requirements. With the new price points, we have made the proposition even more affordable and this will benefit customers with very heavy voice usage,” said Ajai Puri, Director – Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel. Airtel says only content subscription on Wynk Music & Wynk Movies will be free, and data access charges will apply.
Airtel has recently said it will offer more 3G and 4G data on its existing packs, thus resulting into benefits on these packs increasing by up to 67 per cent. Airtel announced the increase in data, two days after Idea slashed internet tariffs.
Under the revised Airtel data benefits, the Rs 655 4G/3G monthly recharge pack will now offer 5 GB data, compared with 3 GB data it offered earlier. The Rs 455 4G/3G pack now offers 3 GB, instead of 2GB. Similarly, Rs 989 4G/3G pack will offer 10 GB data as opposed to 6.5 GB earlier.
