WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature for Android that will allow users to share media, files, documents and more with multiple contacts in one go. The feature is now live on a beta version of the app (v2.16.230) for Android devices. The new version of the app can be downloaded from APK Mirror as well. The new feature is easy to use. First up, users need to select the photo, video or document they need to share with multiple contacts. Next, WhatsApp will show a list of contacts with three of them under ‘Frequent Chats’ option and a few under ‘Recent Chats’ tab. All other contacts in a user’s phonebook appear under ‘Other Contacts’ option. Users can select multiple contacts to share media with by clicking on them or simply search for other contacts to add them to the list. All selected contacts appear with a green tick. The names of contacts a user selects also appear in a green band below. All one needs to do now is press send.
With its new multi-sharing feature, WhatsApp has made it easier to share the same media or document with multiple users in one go. Now, users will not need to go back to the same picture or video or document multiple times to share it with different users individually. Facebook-owned WhatsApp unveiled the new multi-sharing feature just days after it rolled out Voice Message and Call Back options for Android and iOS users. WhatsApp is constantly working on features to make its platform more useful. The messaging platform is reportedly looking to add GIF support. It earlier introduced a beta build with video calling option but pulled it down afterwards.
