MUMBAI: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting ( MIB) has issued six TV channel licences in August, including two to Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI).
All six licences are in the non-news category and are for Hindi, English and other Indian languages.
SPNI received licences under the name Le Plex HD and Sony Rox HD. Sony Le Plex HD, which was launched on 23 August, is a premium HD English movie channel.
Other companies to receive the licences are VS Broadcasting, Navda Creations, KCB Builders & Developers, and Satcom Media Broadcast. The licences are under the name VS TV, Navda, Sarthi and EV TV2 respectively.
